The beads (pearls) are strung so tightly on the cord that the strand is very wavy (for lack of a better description). They do not lay flat and smooth. I had hoped that letting them air out and relax for a few days would solve the unsightliness, but after several days they remain kinky. I would be embarrassed to wear them.
